AVID Students work toward completing 90 hours of community service between grades 9-12. Serving the community is a very important attribute in AVID. Here are the yearly requirements:
9th grade = goal is 20 hours this year (10 checked in December, 20 checked in May)
10th grade = goal is 20 hours this year (25 TOTAL hours checked in December)
11th grade = goal is 25 hours this year (35 TOTAL hours checked in December)
12th grade = goal is 25 hours - 60 TOTAL hours by March 30th (50 total hours checked in December)
Total = 90+ hours by graduation (60 minimum for service learning metal)
Qualification to earn the RISD Service Learning Metal: Successfully complete and electronically log at least 60 hours into THIS RISD Community Service Google Form by March 30th of your senior year. These hours can be accumulated between all 4 years of high school.
Schoolwide Community Service opportunities will be posted in this Google Classroom. You do not have to be in AVID to join this group.

Use THIS RISD Community Service Google Form submit hours to the district for verification/approval. This is required to earn your metal for graduation.
Please rest assured that we have record of all documented hours that were entered into X2VOL from June before the student’s 9th grade year up until 5/30/24. If needed, students may fill out this Google Form to have their X2VOL record sent to them:
