Advanced Placement
Advanced Placement (AP) is a program overseen by College Board and allows students to take college- level courses while in high school. AP courses reflect what is taught in top introductory college courses.
AP classes are open enrollment and allow for any student to enroll who is wishing to take a course.
A score of 3 or higher on an AP Exam at the end of the school year, can typically earn students college credit and/or placement into advanced courses in college.
Individual colleges and universities evaluate a student’s submitted AP score(s) and determine what they will accept. Students must check with potential higher education institutes to review their policies on acceptance of AP score(s).

University of Texas OnRamps
UT OnRamps is a program overseen by the University of Texas at Austin and allows for students to take college-level courses while in high school. OnRamps courses reflect what is taught to University of Texas at Austin students.
OnRamps courses are open enrollment and allows for students to enroll who is wishing to take a course.
OnRamps courses allows for students to be enrolled in both a high school course, led by a high school teacher, and a distance college course, led by a college instructor of record.
The high school grade is awarded by the high school teacher while the college grade is awarded by the college professor. Students DO HAVE the opportunity to deny the college credit at the end of the semester.

Dallas College Dual Credit
Dallas College dual credit is a program overseen by Dallas College District and it’s seven college partners. Dual credit allows for students to take face to face or online college courses at their high school campus or at one of the Dallas College partner campuses.
Dual credit courses do require for students to enroll as a Dallas College student and meet the minimum requirements of a TSIA 2.0 or exemption score for their course(s).
Grade earned in a Dallas College course, do not allow for students to wave the college grade at the end of the semester. Grades earned will be placed on a students Dallas College transcript and their RISD high school transcript. If a student wishes to drop a Dallas College course, they must do so based on the deadlines provided by Dallas College.
